American Club of Lille members and guests are invited by generous members Isabelle and David Twedt to their typical Northern France farm that they beautifully rehabilitated as a country home and garden.
Program of the afternoon:
3:00PM-3:30PM: Visit of the home and garden
3:30PM: Scavenger Hunt for children and children at heart!
4:00PM: Presentation of New Members to the group
4:30PM: Annual General Meeting with State of the Club address, Board Member elections.
5:00PM Barbecue with traditional hamburgers and hot dogs
Come and celebrate with us the start of a new year filled with exciting activities, see old friends, meet new ones!

Members and pre-paid reservation

Non-members and members at the door

Directions to Coutiches (about 20 minutes by car):
Take Highway, Direction Paris.
Take the A23, direction Valenciennes, about 15 km.
Sortie No. 2b, at Orchies, take direction Douai at the rond-point.
Coutiches is the first village. Go through the first traffic light in the center of town. About 100 meters further on go through another traffic light and see a pharmacie on your right. Take the next right after about another 100 meters.
Just follow the road for about a kilometer and a half until you come to the number 607 rue des Ramoniers. It’s an ensemble of brick buildings on the right after an open field on your right. There is a red iron gate with a red upright mailbox, kind of English looking, in front. The entrance is at the far end of the low brick wall just past the house.

The club will provide soft beverages, games and crafts for children (build and fly your own kite!)
Please bring your picnic, lawn chairs (and tables if you are so inclined), blankets, and anything you would like to share! Also, you are invited to bring your own sport equipment (frisbees, softball, football, etc.).
The city Parc du Lion in Wattrelos offers, among various amenities, a pedagogical farm, playground equipment, ponds, climbing pyramid, beautiful walkways, many trees and a large grass field at its center!!
Directions to Park
If coming from Lille, Marcq….take Boulevard with mini tunnels and tram to Roubaix.
Drive to Roubaix Centre Ville and its main street, Boulevard Gambetta.
On Boulevard Gambetta over the bridge, follow signs to Wattrelos. The road turns a bit. You will be on Grand Rue, then Rue Carnot (RN 350) and eventually you will see the modernish Hotel de Ville on your right. Drive slowly.Turn left on rue Gustave Delory. Parc du Lion is on your right.
Vital: do not park in the 1st parking lot, but in the 2nd smaller one down the street. Walk through the gates straight ahead where you will see an enormous lawn and the huge pyramid. We are right next to the pyramid.

Come for an American BBQ, and a French Game of Bourle, a very old Northern France team game played with wooden wheels (similarities with pétanque and curling).
Thanks to our member Bruno Malfait, the Club will have exclusive access to the La Bourloire St Nicolas.
The Club will provide meat for the BBQ, beverages, and ustensils.
To keep the cost down, we ask you to bring salads (potatoe, pasta, or greens) and/or desserts (brownies, chocolate chips cookies or pie).
