In partnership with the Ecole Active Bilingue Jeannine Manuel (EABJM), American Club of Lille members and school children and teachers gather to watch a movie. Afterwards, a debate in French and English is conducted.
In 2007, the showing of the documentary Inconvenient Truth in which Al Gore explores the impact of global warming, was followed by a collective effort to build a compilation of 365 green habits that we could all adopt easily.

Welcome to the 4th of July Picnic of the American Club of Lille!
The American Club of Lille’s Independence Day celebration includes a playful picnic
Rain or shine members meet from 12pm through 5pm in a parc, usually the scenic Parc du Lion in Wattrelos. Among the various amenities, this city park offers a pedagogical farm, playground equipment, ponds, climbing pyramid, and beautiful walkways. The many trees and the large grass field at its center provide a perfect setting for some serious fun!!
In addition to classic games for children, participants bring their footballs, frisbees, and all the softball gear to work off the picnic calories!!
The picnic usually takes place on a Sunday, either on July 4th or on the preceding Sunday, so Americans leaving in France can leave on their long vacation! Please check Upcoming Events for the next Picnic or contact Julie Pattou.
